Flow state, it is one of the most interesting topics that is being discussed and studied today. I have watched numerous videos and read several books by Steven Kotler which I highly recommend, “I put the link to my favorite one at the bottom of this blog.” Flow is basically when you do something that you love, become fully engaged, loose track of time, get lost in the activity and there is no separation from you and the action that you are doing, everything dissolves! Everyone gets into flow state from different activities that are unique to them. Some get into flow from archery, snow boarding, writing, video games, dancing, etc… We all have things that we were created to be amazing at and we get rewarded by getting into flow!
Business executives have shown to be up to %500 more effective while in flow state. Navy seals rely on flow to stay alive and complete missions. It is what makes us great, almost super human! If we learn to harness flow and discover what brings us into flow the quickest and effortless, we will all become great! When we can learn to harness flow our lives will change exponentially!
A cocktail of very powerful chemicals are released into your blood stream during flow state norepinephrine, dopamine, anandamide, serotonin and endorphins. These all work in synergy to enhance athletic and mental performance well beyond the norm. While putting you in a euphoric trance like state! So basically you feel great and preform spectacularly!
I invite you to think about all of you favorite things that you do, then pick out the one that you find it the easiest to fully loose yourself in. Now how can you incorporate that into your life and even possibly earn some extra cash doing it as well?
